Art, Wine and Design event
ART-WINE-DESIGN is a great combination
KAS Interiors was honored this past month to be included in an event to support Cleveland’s local artists. The first annual Art,Wine and Design took place at the 78th Street Studios in Cleveland, Ohio. This venue couldn’t have been a more perfect for partnership to form between two creative groups. The studios offer a visitor night every third Wednesday of each month. This past month they included local designers.
Our instructions were to create a room around our artist’s works. My artist was Laurel Herbold who is well known for her Wee People designs. She graciously created a Wee People rug for me to hang as artwork in my space. The rug is such a fun concept that I felt that adding some eclectic accessories would be necessary to showcase her piece. I borrowed furniture and accessories from R.W. Shea to create a supporting palate for Herbold’s designs. Of course her piece is center of attention hanging against my back wall. I enhanced her art by creating a visual frame around it by using a giant green sofa flanked by an Asian hand painted screen on one side and Longnose Sawshark snouts and a side table on the other. I also created a display board out of wood pallets to show case an array of her other artworks which was located at the front of the space so that walkers by might get an up close view.
All in all a great event and successful night had by all.
Special thanks to:
